The Twilight Zone: 'To Serve Man' (Season3, Episode 24) (1959)
Language is nuanced, especially English. So when a group of aliens arrive on Earth and a linguist translates their manifesto - it's title, 'To Serve Man' is a great encouragement! They are bringing their technology and knowledge to humanity and promise the end of poverty and need.
As the clip shows, however, 'To Serve Man' can mean something else.
We must be careful, in coding and in other arenas, not to read our biases into the work that we are doing.
