In this movie, inspired by Isaac Asimov's futuristic book, artificially- intelligent robots have been integrated into society.

Something goes terribly wrong, however, despite the '3 Laws Safe' robotic operating system.

The robotic brain behind the robot software deployment, V.I.K.I explains how the robotic understanding of the laws, (show below), 'evolved.'

The 3 Laws of Robotics:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

The late physicist, Stephen Hawkins, had very compelling theories about the rise of artificial intelligence and its impact on mankind.
