SketchWave Diamond Demo

SWDiamond is defined by a center SWPoint, a horizontal half-diagonal (diagX), and a vertical half-diagonal (diagY). It is drawn using p5's quad() function inside a push()/translate()/rotate()/pop() block, so rotation is always smooth.

Key Properties

• area — 2 × diagX × diagY (full diagonal product ÷ 2)
• perimeter — 4 × √(diagX² + diagY²) (all four sides are equal)
• sideLength — √(diagX² + diagY²)
• aspectRatio — diagX / diagY
• isSquare — true when diagX ≈ diagY (within 1%), forming a square rotated 45°

Breathing Modes

• Uniform — both diagX and diagY pulse with the same sinusoid
• Horizontal — only diagX breathes; diagY stays constant
• Vertical — only diagY breathes; diagX stays constant
• Independent X/Y — separate sinusoids for each diagonal

How to Use This Demo

• Diag X / Y Sliders: Independently control the two half-diagonals.
• Vertices Toggle (V): Show the four diamond tip points as blue dots.
• Breathing: Click "Start Breathing" or press B.
• Spinning: Click "Start Spinning" or press S. Negative rate = CCW.
• Drag Center: When animations are paused, drag the diamond center to reposition it.
• Trail (Center): Increase the trail slider to draw a path behind the center point.
• Keyboard: B breathe, S spin, C center, V vertices, G grid, R reset, Q quit.
