SketchWave Regular Polygon Demo

SWRegularPolygon computes all vertex positions on the fly from its circumradius and current animation state — no stored vertex array is needed between frames. Two drawing modes are available:

• Sharp corners (Corner Rounding = 0): uses p5's beginShape / vertex / endShape(CLOSE).
• Rounded corners (Corner Rounding > 0): uses curveVertex with a closed Catmull-Rom spline for organic, smooth edges.

Breathing

Because all vertices are equidistant from the center, breathing scales the circumradius uniformly — the whole shape pulses in and out symmetrically. A single SWSinusoid drives the scale factor _scaleR.

Geometry Panel

The live properties table updates every frame and shows: circumradius, current animated radius, side length, area, perimeter, apothem, interior and exterior angles, and current rotation.

How to Use This Demo

• Sides: Drag the slider from 3 (triangle) to 12 (dodecagon).
• Radius: Adjust the circumradius (1–9 grid units).
• Corner Rounding: 0 = sharp; >0 = Catmull-Rom smoothing.
• Breathing: Press B or click Start Breathing. Adjust period and scale range.
• Spinning: Press S or click Start Spinning.
• Drag: When animations are stopped, drag the center dot to reposition.
• Vertices (V): Toggle dots at each vertex.
• Keyboard: B breathe, S spin, C center, V vertices, G grid, Q quit, R reset.
